Metallica Donates $100,000 to Support Venezuela Earthquake Relief

Heavy metal legends Metallica have stepped forward to assist with international humanitarian efforts, announcing a major $100,000 grant to support emergency relief operations in Venezuela following a series of devastating earthquakes.

The funding is being mobilized through the band’s non-profit philanthropic organization, All Within My Hands (AWMH), and routed directly to their long-time disaster response partner, Direct Relief.

Immediate Aid Targeting a Mounting Emergency

The critical funding arrives in direct response to the powerful back-to-back earthquakes—measuring at magnitudes of 7.2 and 7.5—that struck north-central Venezuela on June 24, 2026. The seismic doublet and its subsequent aftershocks have triggered a massive humanitarian crisis, with United Nations reports indicating that up to 6.8 million people may be affected due to displacement or sudden loss of water and electricity.

"Coordinating with agencies at the regional and local levels, Direct Relief is mobilizing emergency medical aid and supporting search-and-rescue operations," Metallica’s foundation shared in an official statement.

The $100,000 grant will directly fund the deployment of essential resources on the ground, including first-aid supplies, emergency trauma medications, hygiene kits for displaced families, and support for search-and-rescue teams like the Spain-based Bomberos Unidos Sin Fronteras. The aid also targets chronic disease medications for local residents whose routine healthcare services were entirely severed by widespread infrastructure damage.

A Continued Commitment to Global Assistance

Established by the members and management of Metallica in 2017, the All Within My Hands foundation prioritizes workforce education, hunger relief, and emergency disaster response worldwide. Because the band natively covers all of the foundation's administrative and operational costs, 100 percent of the $100,000 grant goes directly to the humanitarian frontline.

The significant contribution marks the band's second major philanthropic headline this week, following a localized warehouse-replenishing donation to the Cardiff Foodbank following their June 28 stadium performance in Wales. With the full scale of the destruction in Venezuela still being assessed by international agencies, the foundation emphasized that they will remain in close coordination with Direct Relief as additional community needs unfold across the affected region.
