Rockstar Games and Atlantic Records have officially unveiled Grand Theft Auto VI: The Album—a massive 34-track project of original, purpose-built music designed to soundtrack the fictional state of Leonida and the neon-lit streets of Vice City.
Dropping alongside six lead singles released today across global streaming platforms, the initial wave confirms a genre-spanning A&R strategy that bridges hip-hop, electronic, country, Latin crossover, and classic rock.
A Star-Studded Genre Curation Strategy
Rather than relying purely on legacy radio licensing, the release positions Grand Theft Auto VI as an active generator of culture through exclusive original material. The initial six-track drop highlights an eccentric range of talent pairings and high-profile production credits:
- Hip-Hop & Alternative Crossovers: Travis Scott anchors the initial slate with "RHYNO," a high-energy track produced by Daft Punk legend Guy-Manuel de Homem-Christo. Elsewhere, Swedish rapper Yung Lean joins forces with trap titans Future and Metro Boomin for "That's It."
- Global Electronic & Club Collaborations: Bringing together UK garage, house, and French touch, "Sexy Magic" features an expansive super-group lineup consisting of Argentine duo CA7RIEL & Paco Amoroso, PinkPantheress, Fred again.., and French house pioneer Etienne de Crécy.
- Country, Latin & Legacy Rock Royalty: Country megastar Morgan Wallen contributes "Last Thing You Need," while Puerto Rican hitmaker Rauw Alejandro delivers "Macacoa 2000." Rounding out the first batch is Rolling Stones guitarist Keith Richards, who delivers a gritty blues revival on "Bright Lights, Big City."
Reimagining Interactive Music Placement
The collaboration between Rockstar and Atlantic sets a new high-water mark for video game music curation. By commissioning major artists to write original music specifically for the game’s environment, the publisher ensures the soundtrack operates both as an immersive in-game radio experience and a standalone global commercial release.
"This project isn't just a collection of sync placements—it's a curated snapshot of global music culture," label sources noted following the announcement. "Blending electronic club sounds, heavy hip-hop, country, and legacy rock into a single Vice City identity shows how interactive media is driving major label A&R."
The complete 34-track digital album and physical double-vinyl release will launch on November 19, 2026, coinciding with the official release of Grand Theft Auto VI.
