Iconic music and arts festival Bonnaroo has officially announced it will not take place in 2027, with organizers citing plans for a mandatory "much-needed year off" to overhaul site infrastructure, repair grounds damage, and retool logistics following consecutive years of severe weather disruption.
The announcement was published via the festival's official channels on Friday, confirming that "Bonnaroovians" can expect the flagship Tennessee event to return to action in June 2028.
Weather Disruption Drives Emergency Restructuring
The decision to pause operations stems directly from the compounded toll that back-to-back storm systems have taken on the festival's 700-acre site, known as Great Stage Park or "The Farm".
Despite substantial physical investments made by Live Nation and C3 Presents leading into the June 2026 event—which included laying 4.5 miles of new interior roadways, installing upgraded drainage systems, and planting 135 acres of new grass—heavy summer storms continued to cause significant delays and evacuations on the festival's final day.

"With limited time to recuperate from back-to-back years of storms, including the heavy rainstorm on Sunday this year, The Farm, particularly the main venue, needs a break to rest and recover," the Bonnaroo team stated. "This wasn't an easy decision, and not one we take lightly, but in our hearts, we know this break will only make Bonnaroo better."
Bonnaroo is slated to resume normal operations at Great Stage Park in summer 2028, with further details regarding tickets and lineup announcements expected in late 2027.
